That's right, kids, tonight I will be crawling on a plane and headed for my two week journey of Eastern Europe. I seriously could not be more excited. I fell in love with Europe during my first adventure (Switzerland, France, Rome) and I know that this trip is only going to make me love it more. I'll be seeing castles in Prague, opera houses in Vienna, baths in Budapest, town squares in Krakow, remnants of the horror at Auschwitz, and Victory Square in Warsaw.

I have a feeling it will be the trip of a lifetime. And I know that the quote above will be true. That the person who crawls on that plane today will not be the same person who crawls off of the plane on May 15. How could I be after seeing the location of one of the most horrific examples of hate and violence, and then setting foot onto a square where hope and freedom were demanded for all? How can you hear new languages and meet new people and walk through old cobblestone streets and pray in beautiful churches and not be changed?
If I am able, I'll try to post periodic updates (probably in the form of photographs) from my journey. in case I can't, I've got posts scheduled for the next two weeks while I am away. So sit back, enjoy, and prepare for photo overload beginning on May 16.
Goodbye!

I'm happy for you and I hate you all at the same time friend!!
I have been to Prague, Krakow, etc
Prague- see a concert! probably 10 a show and they are all over, in small churches and concert halls you can buy the tickets on the day of. Buy crystal (famous for it!) and a garnet ring (garnet is a love stone and really big in Prague) I ate a really good restaurant by the river but cant recall the name!
Loved krakow too! I wish I could remember all of the places we ate. I ate so well in Krakow and Prague because it was cheaper-- 3 course meal and 2 glasses of wine for 25-30 US dollars in krakow!
Have so much fun sweet friend! (I really don't hate you, but I am super jealous)
Gosh I am so jealous! Have a blast and take lots of pictures for me! I will have to live vicariously through you until I can go, so make it good :)
I am so incredibly jealous. Have a blast & I can't wait to hear about the trip! Auschwitz is definitely something. I went when I was 17.
