Wedding Recap Post #11: The Decorations, Cakes, and Snack Tables

I wasn't a girl that dreamed about my wedding since I was 3.  I really couldn't care less about decorations.  In my mind, we'd set out a few burlap runners, some mason jars, some pearl strands, and pretty much call it a day.  Luckily for me, my Mom and her friend The Artist, didn't let me do that.  Those two gathered up so much stuff that it literally took a horse trailer to get it all to the reception venue.  The loot was a mix of Hobby Lobby (all half off, my mom likes to point out), stuff borrowed from friends who recently got married as well, and stuff from The Artist's awesome house decor. Mom, The Artist, Mrs. B, and I spent a whole day decorating.  And when we were done, I just couldn't get over how amazing it looked.

Each table had a mix of mason jars, old bottles, wine bottles, burlap and pearls.  Additionally, every table had a different little sign.

As for the cakes, The Boy from Texas has a professional cake making grandma.   She's made every birthday cake he's ever had.  She's made every wedding cake ever needed in the family.  Last Thanksgiving, long before we were engaged, she sat me down with a picture book and told me to tell her what cakes I liked.  Apparently she knew what was coming!  We gave her two pictures off of Pinterest and told her to go to town.  I cannot get over what an amazing job she did!

Lastly, the snack tables.  See, I have these aunts.....  We weren't going to do any gifts for the wedding guests because, well, we had 400 of them and we're cheap.  But then the aunts decided that people might get hungry after dinner while they were dancing, so they offered to do snack tables for the guests.  Next thing I know, we have a spread that could have fed armies!  A full candy bar, chips, dips, fruits, veggies, cookies, breads, you name it.  There have been several people comment on how those tables were the best part of the wedding!

I know I've said it 50 times by now, but this day never would have been possible without so much help that we didn't even have to ask for from the people in our lives.

I am 100% convinced that your wedding was perfect. So basically I'm going to hire you someday when I get married to recreate your wedding ha. It's exactly what I've always had in my head.

It really was so perfect. The decorations were awesome, the cake was so pretty and delicious, and the snack tables were inspired! Your wedding elves did a fantastic job! I'm so glad that it was not only everything you wanted, but more.

Well decoration plays an important part in look of a venue. I decorated my hired Las Vegas Weddings venue with Red and white Roses in a day before my wedding. Everyone was so surprised like I did all the decoration part.
