Costa Rica List

"Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. Don't be a person who has to look back and wonder what they would have or could have had."

For the first time tomorrow, I'm linking up with Friday Lists! If you know me, you know that I'm a girl who LOVES me some list making.

As I announced to the blog world yesterday, I'll be off to the beautiful jungles and beaches of Costa Rica in T minus 84 days! I could not be more excited about this trip---I mean every. single. detail. But today, I'm sharing you the 5 things I am most looking forward to!

1. Time with three of my favorite folks! I love nothing more than hanging out with my friends, and love it even more then I can get people from different parts of my life together in one place. In Costa Rica, I'll be joined by a cousin, a friend from high school and a friend from college. And I cannot wait to spend a week with these people! The four of us together anywhere would be awesome, but in paradise...I think the word epic comes to mind.
2. Ziplining and canopy tour. I've heard people rave about ziplining in the jungle and it's a bucket list item, so this was one of the first activities we signed up for. Last week, my brother calls me. Here's that conversation.
Little Brother: You're going to Costa Rica?

Me: Yep.

Little Brother: You're ziplining?

Me: Yep.

Little Brother: That's stupid, you're scared of heights.

Me: Yep.

Ha! A girl only lives once Bring it on, ziplines and rickety bridges! Bring. It. On.

3. Parasaing. This was one of the very first items that I put on my bucket list, and what better place to do it than paradise, right? The rest of the crew seems a little iffy on this one, but I don't care, I'm doing it! They can watch from the safety of the beach if they want to. This girl will be in the air. (Little Brother didn't know about this yet, but I'm pretty sure his comment about ziplining will be made a second time!) 4. Volcano tour and hot springs. I'll be honest, this would probably not have been on my list had I not heard several other people I know rave about how great it was. Apparently at night (when we'll be doing the tour) you can actually see the lava flowing off the volcano. You can't pass up a chance like that, right?

5. White water rafting. You might remember that I have already crossed this item off the ol' Bucket List. And after having as much fun as I did the first time, I was definately game to try it again through the jungle. I'm super excited about this part of the trip. (Cousin Swiss Mister is a bit nervous thanks to Blonde Oklahoma Girl's comment about anacondas or some other giant snake in the river....remember his insane snake phobia? We're trying to calm him down in the next 84 days.)So....that's the plan so far! If you guys have additional ideas or suggestions, please please please let me know! I'm all ears and I plan to do and see as much as I can while I'm there.

You'll love it - I've been to Costa Rica twice, and both times went Whitewater Rafting. It was a lot of fun - but during the first trip, we were put on a higher class of rapids, so that was a bit scary for my dad and my uncle. I love Whitewater Rafting, though, and it gave us a story to talk about afterward. I've also been parasailing (Cabo San Lucas) and zip lining (Jamaica and Puerto Vallarta) - and both are a lot of fun as well. You'll enjoy zipping through the trees.

The jungle is so lush in Costa Rica - you should be able to see monkeys hanging around ( no pun intended). I'm thinking that by hot springs, you are referring to Tabacon Hot Springs. It's very relaxing and beautiful. I also wrote this in response to Blonde Oklahoma Girl's post re: Costa Rica - but I went horseback riding on the beach while there. If that is something you are considering, while it was fun, I'd make sure you go through a reputable tour company. The horses we were riding on acted a bit nervous.

I don't know if you have booked your accommodations yet, but my sister and brother in law went to Costa Rica in the past six months. They stayed at the Westin, which was all inclusive, and liked it a lot. It sounds like they got a good deal but they also might have gone in the off season. Anyway, my sister learned to surf, they went zip lining, and tubing (the tubing sounded like a lot of fun).

Have a great time!! There are also beautiful waterfalls. You will definitely have adventures!

Ok, so seriously we are the SAME! I am scared of heights too, which made me wonder why in the hell that I want to go ziplining! Comfort thought.....I'm scared of heights and I have been parasailing, wasn't scary at all, it was AWESOME! I even made an on land landing without killing myself! Have so much fun and I can't wait to read about it all!!!!

OMG you girls are going to have SO MUCH FUN! I so want to go para sailing that is also on the top of my bucket list as well! Dude the Volcano adventure sounds AWESOME to me!

As for ideas I say drink a lot on the beach with the sand in your toes, swim in the ocean, have a massage on the beach maybe, and just enjoy your friends and time in Costa Rica!

Oh you all must take lots of pics for me to see!!

Good luck with BOKG and her hair needs lol ;)

Hey there, I found your blog through Ellen's link up today :) Sounds like you've got a fun trip planned. Good luck with the ziplining, just don't look down! We did a canopy tour in South Africa a few months ago and I made that mistake (I'm also afraid of heights), keep looking ahead and you'll have a blast!

I think its awesome that you are going ziplining and parasailing!! I'm scared of heights as well and told my BFF that before "our 30th Birthday" (she's 26 so that means her 30 and my 28) we are going parachuting even though I am terrified of heights! Hope you guys have a blast!
