I'm a believer in the power of positive thinking. My friend Crazy Canadian always lectures me about putting only positve thoughts out to the universe about finding a boy to marry. That means never lamenting about how it might never happen.
But what I loved about the quote above was the reminder that even if my positive thoughts don't work, and even if I don't get a ring for that finger, I am still blessed. And God is still good. And my life is no less worthwhile than any other girl just because I did not wear a white dress and carry a bouquet of flowers down an aisle.
It may not be the conventional kind of positive thinking the creates my letters to an (hopefully not) imaginary boy, but if you ask me, it's even better than that. Because what's more positive than a realization that God always faithful and I am always blessed?

I love this!
Very nice! And we are all incredibly blessed, regardless of how God chooses to heap out that blessing. Frequently it's in a way that we never would have chosen for ouselves, but that is much better than what we had imagined. For me it's having the finest circle of friends that life can provide, and getting to live in a place that feeds my soul. No ring on your finger can top that!
This is lovely. Rings can be slipped off a finger just as easily as they can be slipped on, but God's faithfulness is always there.

Love the post and love college roomies' response! You are not only blessed but a blessing to everyone you encounter!
Enjoyed this post. And for what it‘s worth, I don‘t think you need to worry. He‘ll be a smart boy who snaps you up (if you don‘t mind me saying so).
